This past Saturday, December 3rd, five Elmhurst officers accompanied 5 local kids to the annual Shop-With-A-Cop event, sponsored by the DuPage Sheriff’s FOP Lodge 109 and DuPage County Chiefs of Police Association.  The event, in addition to the DuPage Sheriff and Elmhurst PD was attended by 10 additional departments from around the county.  After the initial meeting at the gym in the Ackerman Park in Glen Ellyn, the kids were driven in a colorful parade of all of the police cars to the Meijer store in Bloomingdale where each child was able to  spend $125, which was donated by the EPBAA.  At the end of the event, the kids were able to have their gifts wrapped and had their picture with Santa taken at the store as well.  A press release about the event from the DuPage Sheriff can be found here.  Some pictures from the event can be seen in the Gallery tab.
