EPBAA Minutes for February 28th, 2006

The February meeting of the EPBAA was called to order at 1917 hrs. It was attended by 21 members, which included 8 retired members.

The minutes from the January meeting were read and approved (motions by Lafin, Wiehe).
The Treasurer's report was read and approved (Wiehe, Lafin).

The correspondence had a thank-you letter from J. Buenz, son of Dan Buenz, who is a student at NIU and a recipient of one of EPBAA's scholarships.

Old Business:
- Candlelight Bowl teams sign-up and lane assignment will be posted in roll call soon. Still looking for the door prizes and if anyone has any prizes to donate, please see one of the EPBAA officers;
- A donation was passed (Lafin, Hogberg II) to the family of an injured Alton PD officer, Samuel Riney. It was wrongly reported the donation was passed at the last meeting when, in fact, it was tabled until the February meeting to get more information. A letter from David DeWall, President of Alton Benevolent Unit #14 was read regarding Ofc. Riney;
- ACS' Relay for Life will be held on June 16/17 at the York H.S. Team sign-up form will be posted soon;
- The nomination forms for the EPBAA officers were distributed and have to be returned by March 10th, nominating ballots will be, then, distributed and will be counted at the next meeting.

New Business:
- The envelopes for the annual fundraiser will be printed and the letter will be updated. The envelope stuffing date will be set after the printing is done.

The meeting was adjourned at 1927 hrs (Wiehe, Kucera) and usual food and beverages were served. Next meeting at the same location will be scheduled and information to follow.
