First order of the evening was the presentation by Dan Gibbons of the annual Turkey Trot and his request for a donation, which would be voted on later in the evening. After the Gibbons’ presentation, the Minutes from the August meeting were read and approved (motions by Kazarian and Carr). The Treasurer’s report was read and approved (Timmons, Bradford).

New Business:
  • Special Kids’ Day will be held at the Elmhurst Camera location at Spring Rd and Prairie Path on 12/6/06. It is a worthy event to help out the handicapped kids who, otherwise, may not be able to visit with Santa. A motion for donation was passed (Schweik, Kazarian).

September 11th, 2006
On 9/9/06, the combined forces of the FOP and the EPBAA put on a picnic/BBQ for the members and the families of the Elmhurst PD.
The event was held on the grounds of Elm Creek apartment complex that, generously agreed to let us have the event.
Luckily, the rain stayed away but the temperature took a slight dive and it was rather chilly.
Josh Duffy took the reins at the grill and did an outstanding job of cooking to order of burgers, hot dogs, and chicken.
Close to 100 people came out throughout the day, some staying from beginning to the end.
A big kudos to Dennis Kazarian who spearheaded the effort to secure the site.
Also, Tom Cronin, Tony Poli, Ed Coughlin, Steve Weatherford, & Dan Corrigan deserve big thank-you for their help in making this a successful event.
Thank you to Jim Kveton for lending us the nice, big tent and to “A Moon Jump 4 U” for the use of the big pumpkin jump.
Thanks to the City of Elmhurst for the use of their tables and chairs.
You can view the photos from the event in our gallery section.

Candlelight Bowl
On 4/29/06 we had our annual Candlelight Bowl at the Wheaton Bowl. This year, the event was attended by approximately 100 people who bowled a total of 3 games, last one being the always fun "Scotch Doubles" game. All of the monies collected from the raffle tickets and entrance fees went towards the EPBAA's scholarship fund (after deducting the costs). We would like to extend our thanks to the Wheaton Bowl personnel as well as to all of businesses who, generously, donated items for our door prizes. Thank you to Ed Coughlin who located and took care of reserving the site and to Pres. Weatherford and Treasurer Corrigan for their work during the event. Below are several photos from the event.
