June Meeting of the EPBAA
E.P.B.A.A. Minutes from 06-09-10
Meeting was held in the police department’s training room and was called to order at 1500hrs. The Pledge of Allegiance followed. 12 members and 2 retirees were in attendance.
- Minutes from the meeting held 04-13-10 were read and accepted by the members. (Art & Dominick)
- The Treasurer’s report was read and accepted by the members. (Laural & Steve W.)
OLD BUSINESS:
- A thank you letter was received from Kiwanis Club re: the Pancake Breakfast. E.P.B.A.A. made a donation and received our name on the placement;
- For the July 31st Rosemont softball tournament – 8 or 9 members signed up, others can still get involved. We hope to practice before the event;
- The fundraiser is set to go out Aug 1st;
- Cubs outing June 15th. Bus is leaving the PD at 1530 hrs.;
- Vending machines are producing some profit as planned; however, sales of some snacks slumped until prices were lowered to $.25;
NEW BUSINESS:
Donation requests:
- J. Kyle Braid leadership foundation requested a donation. A donation was motioned by Dan Buenz and second by Bob Nicholas. 8 members for, 7 against;
- Relay for Life – Laural will look into whether or not E.P.B.A.A. has already been included as a Gold sponsor. If so, then a donation was motioned by Steve W. and 2nd by Laural;
- One Small Voice – A donation was motioned by Art and second by Ken.
- ECAF Golf Outing;
- Some discussion on our golf outing – Brad Lucchini has planned this in the past. He’ll be tapped to do it again;
- 1 scholarship was awarded to Brad Lucchini’s child. Maybe next year two will be awarded at $1250 each;
- Ken motioned up to $100 for postage to send Torza’s brother, who’s serving in the Marines, care package to Afghanistan;
- Torza motioned $100 for a team to run the 5K Fun Run for Gigi’s Playhouse, a resource for families affected by Down’s syndrome. Second by Duffy.
