EPBAA Meeting on October 11, 2011
The October meeting was held at the Elks lodge on the 11th. Here are the minutes from the meeting;
Meeting called to order at 1930 hrs. Meeting was attended by 8 active members and 9 retirees.
No flag, no Pledge.
Dan Gibbons and Kevin Egan were present to request annual donation for this year’s Turkey Trot. Dan related this year, ALL monies collected from the Trot will remain in DuPage County. To date, the Trot has donated in excess of $2 million to help feed the hungry.
Minutes and Treasurer’s report were read and accepted by the membership. Minutes: Lange and Hargreaves. Treasurer’s: Turek and Kucera.
OLD BUSINESS:
The 2011 fund raiser is about $2,400 short from last year.
Candle Light Bowl issues regarding raising interest were discussed.
The Dieling Fund: the application form still needs to be finished. Open to Elmhurst students of Law Enforcement only.
The plaque and tree in front of the P.D.: a tree can’t be done, too crowded already. Vendor for a bronze plaque has been chosen.
2011 Shop with a Cop: Our own event will be tabled until next year for consideration. Too expensive and short time frame to get organized. We will sponsor 3 children this year at the Sheriff’s event.
Thank you letters: ECAF golf outing, Carney and Nicholas letters, and One Small Voice.
NEW BUSINESS:
Requests: 28th annual Turkey Trot – motion by Lafin, 2nd by Monsen, 1 opposed.
Special Needs Day – motion by Turek, 2nd by Monsen, none opposed.
Shop with a Cop – motion by Monsen, 2nd by Kucera, none opposed.
