OLD BUSINESS:
- Tackle the Tower for American Lung Association on 2/12/12. Some discussion was held regarding how to fund this. The Treasurer was in contact with an organizer and advised this year there was a $100 per person fee. He was able to negotiate a $1000 max and motioned for an additional amount to be added to the amount already pledged by the EPBAA. The difference would be returned to the books in the event of a small turnout.
- The EPBAA is seeking a committee leader to begin organizing a softball team. No one has expressed interest in doing this so far.
- Candlelight bowl will be Feb 4, 2012 at Wheaton Bowl. Space is still available. Sign up sheet in roll call. Any civilians interested can contact one of the EPBAA officers.
- Annual fundraiser closed at a little bit below last year’s amount. Paper and envelopes for the 2012-13 fundraiser are being obtained as discounted pricing becomes available.
- Vending machine pop price will be raised for the first time due to ever increasing initial costs. $1.25 is still significantly less than most stores. Support your EPBAA Scholarship Fund by purchasing a soda once in a while.
NEW BUSINESS:
- We’ve been in contact with John Quigley, President of the Elmhurst Chamber of Commerce regarding an email list of all the Elmhurst businesses. This could be used to email the fund-raiser letter in conjunction with a hand delivered letter. John Quigley said he would donate half of the fee charged for the list.
- A suggestion was made to start the EPBAA Facebook page. This was positively accepted by members and will be looked into.
