Meeting called to order at 19:00 at the Elks Club.

Minutes from the meeting held 05-26-09 were read and accepted by Steve W. and Tom Turek. All accepted.

Treasurer Tannehill was not present and no report was available. Pres. Coughlin related finances are in an “OK” shape.

Old Business:

Thank you letters received from:
- Cara Burroughs and Nick Panico for their scholarships; &
- American Cancer Society for our donation and support.

The two care packages were scheduled to be sealed and sent out early the next week. Some discussion was held regarding some officers who commented why send the packs if our guys are coming back. At this time, S.O. Blasky’s brother is still there.

The Fund Raiser letter went out on August 5th at a cost of $5,000 – $4,500 for enveloping and mailing and $500 to York High School print shop. To date, a good amount was received.  A single resident donated $1,000.  A special letter of thanks will be sent.  There were no negative notes with donations to date.

Taxes were completed at a cost of $950, down from $1,800 last year.

Golf Outing was all set up, almost completely full.

New Business:

Candlelight Bowl is set for Jan. 16th at the Wheaton Bowl. We were looking into having it at the Addison Bowl because it is bigger, maybe better food service. Prizes were discussed and 50” plasma was suggested. (Costco, $799)

Outings to consider: Bulls in the fall, Hawks in the spring or vice versa. These are break-even events. A motion was opened to permit the EPBAA to advance funds for the tickets, then repayment as soon as all pay up. (Upon receipt of tix.)

2 donation requests: York Hockey Club- a donation motioned by Jim Gandy and Brad Lucchini, all agreed.
One Small Voice- A donation motioned by Tom Turek and Steve Weatherford, all agree

A raffle was held for some gift cards- Bruce Smith and George Zaroogian were the lucky winners.

Meeting was closed at 20:00.
