April Meeting of the EPBAA
E.P.B.A.A. Minutes from 04-13-10
Meeting was held at the Elks Club at 19:00. There was no flag available so the Pledge was not conducted. A poor showing of 8 members and 7 retirees were in attendance.
Minutes from 02-16-10 were read and accepted by membership. (Lucchini, D. Kucera)
Treasurer’s Report was read and accepted. (Timmons, Turek)
OLD BUSINESS:
- Work-out room re-upholstery job will cost $385. The matter was tabled until next meeting to see if there are available funds;
- Is the sauna worth keeping? An $850 heater replacement is needed. A survey letter will be circulated.
- Vending machines were purchased and are in service. All proceeds go to the E.P.B.A.A. scholarship fund.
NEW BUSINESS:
- EPBAA received two thank-you letters from Operation Snow Ball and American Red Cross for our donations.
- Cubs’ outing is set for June 15th, 2010. Monies are due by June 1. Sign-up sheet posted in Roll-Call room.
- Candle Light Bowl set for January 29 at Wheaton Bowl. Main prizes are needed. Please contact one of the EPBAA officers to donate prizes.
- Scholarship apps are due April 30th. Members were reminded of the requirements.
- Possible vending opportunity at City Hall to be investigated.
- Saturday, July 31 is the Rosemont Softball Tourney. Team sign-up form will be posted.
- 2010 Fundraiser letters and envelopes are printed ready to send to mailer. Some discussions were had regarding how we can save money on the fundraiser.
DONATIONS REQUESTS:
- Community Bank of Elmhurst for 4 on the 4th 4K run. A donation was motioned by Lafin, seconded by Ray Bradford. By a 9 to 2 vote, it passed.
- There was some discussion on sponsoring an Elmhurst youth for baseball; however, it is too late as the season had already started.
